Le Journey

 Assalamualaikum💖

(If you're here to judge, go away. Negativity is very much unwanted right now.)

Hello. This is a post dedicated to my first album, Shoot Me: Youth Part 1.

My firstborn album :(

I'm writing this because I feel like I can't let you go, although I just did.

I can't believe I made that decision. I can't believe I let you go. What was I even thinking?

I'm sorry for letting you go.

You were, and still are very special to me. You're like my firstborn. You were the first K-Pop item that I owned. You were the first one who entered my K-Pop box. I was over the moon the first time I held you in my hands. And the last time I held you, I was overwhelmed with a thousand emotions I couldn't fathom. But most of it all, I felt broken.

I still feel sentimental whenever I listen to the songs from the album; Shoot Me, Still, Somehow, Feeling Good, Talking To, Warning. They bring me back to my study week in semester 2 at college, when my roommate was still at home and I was alone in the room. I was supposed to be studying, but guess what I did? I streamed Day6 Youth Concert in Seoul for three days straight through Mixlr, where I heard the members singing the songs from their new album for the first time, before the album even came out. My first paper was on Monday, and I spent my Sunday afternoon with Day6. Two days before my second paper, the album was released so my revision was accompanied by the new songs.

And about a month later, you reached me.

I'm not entirely sure how I should let you go. I keep reminding myself that this is a good start if I want to get rid of my attachment towards K-Pop. But this is hard. The box feels empty now without your small presence. The other albums are all taller and bigger than you are, so I ended up caring for you the most, making sure you were always at the top. I usually opened the box and could see you right away, but now? You're not even there.

My heart feels heavy to let you go. But I trust Krys would treasure you as much as, or even more than I did. I know, for sure, you'll be safe with her.

I'll miss you. Thank you for all the memories.

"아직도 난 널 원하나 봐"

 Assalamualaikum 💖

Hello. I'm procrastinating. And I'm not proud of it. Thank you.

I should've done this weeks ago. Probably months. But it's something that I loathe so I kept putting it off to tomorrow, tomorrow and another tomorrow. Until today comes. I hope I'll be done with it by midnight and not procrastinate again.

If I can earn money through procrastinating. I'd be a billionaire by now.

I have a dream. Or maybe a goal. It makes me so happy just thinking about it.

I want to get a job that pays well, with passive income in my bank account every month. I don't know that much about passive income but I hope the income keeps increasing every single day until the day comes when it's unnecessary for me to go to work. But I'll keep working anyway because what else am I supposed to do then?

With that much income per month, I hope to be able to support my parents so they won't have to work anymore. They can just rest at home and do anything that they want to without having to think about persevering through another hard day at work tomorrow. They can buy anything that they want to, do activities, go on vacations; literally anything that has been on their wishlist all this while. They have sacrificed a lot for me and my family. Their bright youth days were gone as they were busy providing for us four siblings, which I feel really grateful but sorry for. So yes, they deserve all the happiness and comfort in this world. I want to be the one to take care of them now.

I don't wish to live a luxurious life. I'm content with the way things are now, but I really pray that I can make life better for my parents. Earning enough to provide for my parents and family is my ultimate goal. It would be even better if I have some extra income that I can share with people in need. I'll start with my relatives, and followed by just anyone in this world who needs it. Contributing to Islam at the same time. I've always wished I could help more people going through hard times financially, so I think I'd feel much happier if I could do this. I'll save aside some money in case of emergency as well.

My heart's beating fast at the thought of all this happening. Being able to make the world a better place for my parents, family, friends and everyone else. I guess this is the definition of success.

I aspire to be this kind of person.

Ya Allah, guide me to be someone capable of doing all these.

Assalamualaikum 💖

I was on the phone with Jasmin last Thursday night and suddenly felt the urge to check my phone. I saw notifications from two WhatsApp groups; my class and my group of degree friends. My heart started beating fast as I wondered what was going on, so I clicked on the group with my friends first.

It turned out that there was a link to check the examination results a few hours earlier than it was supposed to come out. I was like 'BRO HOW COME but you know what we can wonder about that later!' as I opened the link and entered my ID and password. At this point, I could barely hear what Jasmin was talking about.

And...

"JAS JAS JAS JAS JAS JAS!"

"Haa haa apa dia?"

"RESULT AKU DAH KELUAR! I GOT ...!"

"OMG SEE I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!"

Welp she said an abundant of things afterwards as she screamed excitedly. I could literally imagine how she was behaving on the other side; smiling with her 'I knew it!' hand movements haha damn I miss this girl. I don't know when I'll be able to see her next because she's too far away. Hoping it'll be soon (real soon).

Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah.

I feel very grateful for everything; for my results, my supportive family and friends, and my whole three years as a degree student.

Three years full of ups and downs.

After my call with Jasmin, I listened to some songs and when Roy Kim - Suddenly was playing, a pang of longing hit me. I missed my friends. A lot of my classmates uploaded our class photos, making me feel nostalgic. I can't believe my degree life is really ending; that the present will soon become memories.

Let's be happy
Even when we don't see each other anymore
Let's just smile
When we think about each other in our lives
Let life go on
Like we had the best dream
And if we meet again
Let's think about it at that time

Roy Kim- Suddenly

It feels like I'm really entering the adulthood now. May the best things be coming for us soon, and in the future.

 Assalamualaikum dunia!💥

Cuba teka siapa dok tangguh nak buat cover letter sampai harini lepastu decide nak update blog instead?

Ugh macam-macam alasan dah aku bagi dekat diri sendiri. Tapi tulah susahnyaaaa nak buat cover letter! Dia macam senang tapi jadi susah bila fikir cara nak buat surat tu jadi attractive. Susahlah weh astaghfirullah berapa kali dah aku give up ni.

Mungkin sebab aku asyik tulis English je selama ni sampai aku dah terbiasa.

Aku ada beli buku Kitab Tamadun Melayu by The Patriots dalam dua bulan lepas. Tapi sampai sekarang belum habis baca. Separuh pun tak sampai lagi :') Di mana aku yang duluuu yang boleh habiskan buku setebal alam dalam sehari 😭 Aku beli sebab aku minat sejarah tapi hmmm adakah aku sudah berubah :') Atau aku sekadar manusia pemalas :')

Pelik sebenarnya bila tiba-tiba aku aktif dekat blog. Macam dulu. Rasa seronok and healing bila menulis. Masalahnya sekarang, bila aku dah rajin menulis dekat blog balik, tak ada orang nak update blog pun 😭 Memang sekarang tak ada siapa suka menulis ke macam mana 😭 Aku rasa aku nak cari blog-blog baru untuk aku baca lepas aku habis tulis ni. Di mana semangat menulis anda wahai rakyat Malaysia dan masyarakat global 😭 Sesungguhnya saya bosan so saya nak baca pasal kehidupan dan pengalaman strangers 😭

 Assalamualaikum 💖

First of all, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, MALAYSIA! 🎆

Second of all, I'm bored. I just thought of writing. Maybe it can unleash all the hidden emotions within me.

I actually met up with my form 1 - 3 classmates a week or two ago. It took a lot of courage for me to attend the reunion because I hadn't seen most of them ever since school ended. I was nervous and afraid if I would end up wanting to go home as soon as I arrived. The thought of meeting strangers was more appealing to me. But deep in my heart, I did want to go because it's been soooo long and I knew that if I didn't go this time, I might end up not joining them forever haha. So I did. With my friends' encouragements.

There's another reunion for my SPM classmates this weekend but I'm still not sure if I want to come or not... Now I understand why in some movies, the lead actors always refuse to go to their school reunions. I couldn't understand before this like just go and meet up with your old friends it's not that hard. Well, I guess it's easier said than done.

In another news, I just deleted about 10 albums in my phone dedicated to K-Pop. I've been wanting to do that for a while now but it wasn't easy at all. I've been a K-Pop fan for more than half of my life now. Hold up, I'm not saying that I'm going to quit liking K-Pop. That's just... impossible at the moment. It'd be like I'm letting go of half of my source of happiness that has stayed with me for more than a decade now.

This would be hard to understand for non-Kpop fans. It's not only about the music. It's about how some of the artists would give out words of wisdom, encouragement, advice, etc. to the fans when we need them most. It's about the inspiration they give us to keep going and improving ourselves to do better. It's about how some of them share their experiences and deepest emotions, making sure that we know we're not alone in this, or if not, that we are aware about these kinds of situations. Yes, I'm talking about Jae, and the rest of DAY6.

It's less about the aegyo and all kinds of concepts they can pull. Less about the pleasant personalities that they choose to show us. But it's more about the fact that they choose to show that they, the idols, are imperfect humans too. Making us feel belonged. It's these things that make it hard for me to let go.

This has been going through my head for weeks now. Ever since I had troubles balancing these two worlds. I considered abandoning K-Pop for me to focus more on my ibadah. But then I wondered if K-Pop really strayed me away from Islam? I admit that sometimes it does, like when I prayed in a rush because of a concert, and so on. It happens whenever I'm active on my stan Twitter account. There, everyone is like super updated and I didn't want to miss out on anything. But the thing is, K-Pop is not the sole reason that I became distracted in my ibadah. It happened whenever I prioritized the worldly matters more than anything, forgetting that Allah is the owner of time. The One who owns this world. Who am I to neglect my ibadah when I'm the one who needs Him, and not the other way around?

What finally made me decide to delete those albums was a video by Ustaz Adnin. I just felt like googling "Is kpop haram" and that video came out. Some lectures would just straight up say, yes it's haram, but he's unbiased. I like that he doesn't specify his answers towards K-Pop, but instead he discussed the issue generally on all forms of entertainment. That immediately made me want to continue listening. When he talked about obsession to the point of saving the photos of the artists in one's phone, I was like 'whoa hold up I'm going to delete these RIGHT NOW' haha. To be very honest, I rarely even looked at the photos I saved (except for memes) but I keep them saved in my phone anyway. Thousands of pictures only for birthday purposes hshshds. I thought I wouldn't feel anything when I deleted them but bruh it felt like I was breaking up with someone haha. But I'm absolutely fine as I've been wanting to delete them anyways.

So, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to log out of that stan Twitter account that created that pressure in me to stay updated with everything. Probably not going to delete it (yet). I think I'll be better then. With less fangirling and obsession over K-Pop :')

I think this all the time but I miss the 2015 me.

Pray for me, everyone. I'm trying to change but slowly so I don't get shocked.

Till the next post!

 Assalamualaikum 💖

Well hellooooooo there! This is so awkward.

I'm unofficially done with my final semester last month, and have been on the mission of job hunting ever since. Some days I felt reeaaaalllyy happy only to end up feeling jumpy in the evening. And it's mostly due to my overthinking when I still hadn't received any calls for interviews. A few of my friends have started working already and that makes me nervous.

Bro it's only been a month. I don't know why I kept feeling that way. All the while I was going through that, somehow I kept encountering posts saying things like, "Leave your future to Allah.", "Syaitan loves it when you worry about your future and past.", and "Rezeki tak pernah salah alamat.". At that time, I felt like, I know. I know all that. But it's so hard to stop thinking and worrying. I wanted to work and help my family out but why couldn't I land myself a job? I realized that I wasn't trying hard enough, but I didn't know what to do for my effort to be enough.

It reached a point where I could feel myself straying away from Allah because of all those worries I had. I wanted to have faith that everything's going to be alright and that Allah will give the best for me sooner or later, but I swear it was so difficult to do that. I wanted to succeed in my life here but it felt like I was going to fail in the akhirah if I kept acting that way. I felt so lost, thinking why can't I succeed in both worlds? I wanted to succeed so much in this world but what's the point if the success is temporary?

The note I wrote on my phone.
The note I wrote on my phone.

Then I figured that I probably could, if I could balance both worlds. I slowed down the job seeking process for a while to get rid of my worries. I tried to listen to Islamic lectures and improve my solat just to feel closer to Allah again. Just to at least feel His presence. I haven't been very consistent but I do feel calmer and happier now. If I could istiqamah on this, I can imagine how much more content and happier I will be. I'm not saying that I don't worry at all nowadays, because I still do, but not as frequent and bad as before. Alhamdulillah.

I'm not a perfect person, and I'm not writing this to show myself being something that I'm not. I'm still trying to improve myself. I just wanted to say how much happier we will be if Allah is present in our hearts. I felt it this time around, although not fully as I'm still struggling to khusyu' when performing my prayers. I wanted to say that, when we worry too much about our future, we just kind of forget to live in the present. It would be much better if we leave all our worries to Allah and ask for His help. And lastly, I wanted to say that, the closer our hearts are to Allah, the more peaceful our lives will be, insyaallah.

May Allah help us in our journey to become better Muslims.

Till the next post!💞

Assalamualaikum 💖

Selamat hari raya everyone! (Too late I know but still) (I found the emojis again 😜)

So how was your raya this year? Mine was still as lively as before. Alhamdulillah. My aunt's family came over and we celebrated the day with them. I'm grateful that I still have my family with me this raya as well.

There's another thing for me to be grateful for.

A lot of things have been revealed and resolved the past week between me and my friends. All the unsaid things, all the fears within, all the ties broken. Things that, for years, I thought I could never find the answers to. But they were fixed in just A WEEK. We've been holding the emotions in for so long, so long that I have actually forgotten most parts of it and moved on.

But guess what? It turns out that this all happened because of lies. Lies that once cracked our friendships. Lies that made us go through hell. Lies that, for some reason, we bought. It was stupid, I know. But I'm glad that we reached out to each other this time around and united against a liar.

I'm happy to have my friends back as a whole. No more of us being wary of each other. I'm happy that we chose to trust each other this time. But I'm upset that it took us this long to resolve the misunderstandings. We wasted so much time that we could have spent together by doubting one another. I feel extremely sorry for this.

It kind of reminds me of Dilan and Milea; how they misunderstood each other and only realized it when there was no going back. It was too late for them, but luckily, not for us. I don't even know how to describe how thankful I am. Alhamdulillah.

P.S. Lesson learned. Always trust your guts. They could be right.

Till the next post! 🎈

Assalamualaikum.

WOW I HAVEN'T BEEN HERE FOR SO LONG AND NOW BLOGGER HAS CHANGED HAHA. I can't even find the emojis anywhere sheesh I'm too used to expressing myself using emojis. My writing feels angry when there isn't one. Or am I the only one who feels this way?

I honestly don't know why I'm here. I did my online presentation on green awareness today. Like finally, I got the chance to. It's a "first come, first serve" kind of presentation, so everyone was trying to seize the opportunity to present. I've been practising for two days and if I still didn't get to present today, I even thought of giving up lol.

How's life? Life's been good, alhamdulillah. A quick summary of 2020 so far:

I finished my final exams in January, that was the last time I saw my classmates.

After the exams, I went hiking with Hazim at Bukit Batu Putih, which was much much easier than Gunung Datuk. But the route to and from the beach was super hard and steep bruh me being me, I wanted to give up. But that was nothing compared to my prior experience. At least I didn't cry this time.
(Note to self: Buy a new pair of sports shoes if you want to go hiking again.)

I underwent internship at RAYMINTEX, Nuklear Malaysia for eight weeks. I loved it there. I don't know if I said this in my previous post. but everyone was really nice. They taught us instead of scolding. They showed us instead of ordering. Everyone was just very very helpful and accommodating. To be very honest, I didn't want to leave that place. I would really love to work with them. During my first week there, I even said that I had a feeling that I was going to miss this place. Farewell is always a huge problem to me because I just have this huge attachment to things that make me happy. I'm hoping to see them again someday. And that was also the last time I saw my other classmates undergoing internship at Nuklear Malaysia.

MCO happened. I've gone out exactly twice since then. It doesn't really bother me that I can't go out though. That's how much of a homebody I am. It feels nice to spend every day with my family. I do miss my friends sometimes but that's about it. UiTM also decided that there would only be online classes this semester. That means the next time I'm going to see my classmates is during our graduation day.

I don't think much has happened since then. Aside from online classes and assignments. There are times when I'd think about my future. What am I going to do for work, am I going to pass the interviews, will I be able to repay my parents' hard work in raising me, will I be able to take care of them the way they have been caring for me. I think about all those stuff.

Life is hard, adulting is even harder.

I'm thinking of editing my blog again. Someday.
I ALSO NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW THIS NEW BLOGGER WORKS.

Take care everyone.
Stay home, and if you can't, stay safe.
Wash your hands frequently,
wear face masks if you're sick,
avoid crowded public areas,
and practise social distancing.

Praying for everyone's health and safety. Do pray for mine and my family's too.

Till the next post!

Assalamualaikum 💖

My first post of 2020.

It's funny how my last post was on wearing braces. It's like I put on braces and poof I just disappeared without a trace, when in fact, a lot of things have happened since then. I mean it's been months, of course lots of things would have happened.

I do write sometimes, but I only have them saved in my phone. Things like my emotions, my thoughts, my dreams. Simple stuff, but ones I'd like to express at once. They're personal and I wouldn't upload them anywhere unless I feel like it.

I always write down my dreams (not dreams as in what I want to do in the future, but dreams as in the ones you have when you sleep), but not all of them. Only ones that I'd like to remember for a long time. Because once, they made me feel good when I woke up, and I want to carry that feeling in my writing, so that I can feel the emotion again in the future. I love doing it. Writing just gives you that satisfaction.

I don't have a talent for poems, but I love writing them as well! Mostly in English and Malay. I wrote one in Korean, and another one in Indonesian (Dilan is to blame). They are not exactly beautiful but the emotions I felt when I wrote them are carried in every word. For example when I wrote about my crush, and I read it now, I can still feel how fresh my feelings for him were. When we first met. When I started liking him. When I first realized it. That exact feeling right there, I can feel it. You know what I mean?

My own words carry that much impact on me.

Perhaps that's the reason my blog still lives, while others have abandoned theirs. Writing heals me. I let off some burdens through writing. I express my emotions through writing. When I don't blog, I write on my phone. Sometimes on paper, but rarely. Aaaanndd I also love to read my writings.💖 Again and again and again. Be it on this blog, my phone, or Twitter. I hope I'm not the only one who does this?😂

I can't remember if I've said this before, but because I loved books so much, I used to want to be a writer. I mean, I still do, if I could, but I don't have the confidence to do it anymore. I don't possess a variety of imaginations as I once had, so I don't think I can pull off creating an interesting world that draws readers in. Even if I could, I don't know if I could continue the story or end it well. It's been ages since I wrote short stories so ugh. I would probably try writing one again someday (when will that day come, or will it ever come, I don't know for certain). I'd love to do it as a hobby.😝

Oh man I've strayed too far. I was actually here to write on life update since it's been so long. But here we are. I'm not even surprised anymore.😂 I'm not that talkative in real life but I sure talk a lot when I write. Guess I'll write that in another post then.😂

Till the next post!💕

P.S. I just remembered that it used to be "annyeong goodbye adios" (a long time ago). I don't know how and when it changed to "till the next post" but I like it 😝
