Le Journey

Assalamualaikum💖

I'm back!

Back home, back to blogging, and back to sleeping like a log!

Haha so I just got back from UKM last Saturday after staying there for about 10 days. I was there as a volunteer for SUKIPT 2018.

Honestly, it still feels weird to think that I actually joined this sort of program. Me, the girl who is always homesick and would hate to spend my time away from home. That 'me', just spent 10 days of her semester break volunteering at an unfamiliar place when she could've stayed at home doing everything she wanted to.

But I did. I really did.

I broke my shell, got out of my comfort zone, and met new people. It's a good feeling, to be honest. All thanks to my friend, Aina for asking me to join her.

At first, the only reason that I wanted to go was to get a certificate for it. There's even allowance given so why not? But as the D-Day got nearer, I felt reluctant to go because my semester break started on the 26th of January, and I already had to leave on the 31st. It wouldn't even be a week since my break started if I went on with the plan! Nevertheless I still managed to force and drag myself to go to UKM in the end.😤

Tell you what, I don't regret going at all.

I really learned a lot from joining SUKIPT 2018. I was there as Jawatankuasa Hadiah dan Cenderamata. Basically, we were the ones who had to handle all the medals and gifts, from arranging them according to the events, to passing them on to athletes and VIPs. I could really see here how important teamwork is. Just a bunch of people working together to make sure that the events and prize-giving ceremonies run smoothly.

I also managed to witness all kinds of sports (and athletes too😂), and how they're being judged. The volunteers from my jawatankuasa were divided into 12 groups, together with two or three supervisors to help us through. For my team, we got to go to the venues of taekwondo, swimming, bowling, karate, fencing, athletics and squash. One sport per day starting from Sunday. The furthest that we went was to Nilai University for fencing.

Well, here are some of the pictures!

This is during the swimming competition at National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil.

My teammates from Team 9 during bowling competition!

Malam Perasmian SUKIPT 2018

At this time, I was the happiest human being on Earth because we got pizzas for free! After we got back from the stadium, extra pizzas were distributed to each room and so Aina and I got three boxes of pizzas.

Fireworks💥

The mini mascot! It's just so cute everyone was waiting for extras but unfortunately there wasn't any :')

On our final day, my team and I went for squash and things went pretty smoothly. We finished early, and Kak Chia then treated us to mee tarik at Pusanika UKM.

That's actually a really big bowl of mee tarik right there and me, being me, couldn't finish it. I tried so hard, so bad, but it's just impossible for me. There were also some dumplings, lamb satay and one dish that I can't remember its name. But they were all scrumptious and delicious!😋

Here goes the last photo of my teammates!

I had fun and laughed a lot while working with these people. Even on the final day, there was a lot of laughter since we were all cramping ourselves in a Viva car (except for Haziq of course, he got the front seat all by himself😂) on our way back to Dectar. Overall I think this has been a great experience for me and I certainly don't regret it one bit. I only intended to get a certificate at first, but created memories and experience along the way.😁👍

P.S. Hoping to make the most out of 2018!

Till the next post then!💕

Assalamualaikum💖

I'm finally done with my final exams last Thursday! The last paper was Polymer Chemistry which was the hardest subject for me. I almost lost it and my heart was practically begging and screaming for it to be over. But mostly it was because all my roommates had gone home at the time and I was the only one left. The room was so empty with only some of my stuff left. It was too quiet without the quarrels, screams and laughter from my roommates. Furthermore, I was left with this on my whiteboard.

Can you imagine how strong my urge was to go home? Looking at the board made it 10 times stronger.😪 They're just so sweet I'm going to miss them for sure.

Before the last two papers, I had a few days gap so I went home. On Monday, my form 6 classmates suddenly suggested that we go to meet our teachers the next day (Tuesday). I think I was making my last-minute notes at that time.

At first I was like 'Nooo I got an exam on Wednesday I can't possibly go!'

The next moment I became like YOLO when will you ever see your teachers again together with your classmates 에라 모르겠다 just go!😝

And that's how I decided to go and see my teachers. Everyone was already done with their final exams (this also contributed to my strong urge to go back home) and all of them questioned why I wasn't in Shah Alam when my next paper was tomorrow haha. But never mind that, I was excited to see these kids again! The last time we saw each other was before we entered university, and honestly I never thought I'd miss them. 😩

All of my teachers except for one have transferred to another school so that's all the more reason that I was willing to sacrifice my time studying just to see them. After meeting the teachers, we grabbed ourselves some ice cream and lepak some more, then went to see our other teacher who's still in our old school.

I was happy to see them although some couldn't make it, and definitely got motivated to finish my exams faster.😂😂

Done with that! Let's move on to another thing.

I'm a big fan of the Maze Runner movies, and I had been waiting for so long for The Death Cure to come out. It came out on the same day of my last exam but I didn't get to watch it until last Saturday.

WARNING:
SPOILER AHEAD.
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

After almost three years of waiting, I'm definitely not disappointed with this final piece of Maze Runner. I cried guys. Like seriously, I did. I might have been too into the storyline or whatever, but it broke me that Newt died after just meeting Minho.

To give a very honest review, this movie's got a great beginning and ending (to me). There were a few predictable scenes (not many) but also plot twists, like when Gally turned out to be the guy who saved them. But right after Newt died, things got a little havoc and some of the scenes made me feel like 'meh'. The ending was superb though, the letters got me crying again.😭💔

But then again, there are more pros than cons to this movie. After just watching the movie, I rated it 10/10, but now I'd give it 9/10 after thinking it through. I'd still recommend this movie to everyone! Like I said, I'm not disappointed at all with this final piece: The Death Cure.💖

(Might even consider buying the book series now)

Till the next post!💓

Assalamualaikum 💖

An hour ago we entered 2018. What was I doing? I was watching SBS Gayo Daejun at that time haha. It was okay with great ending performance by EXO. Eh by the way it's the first post of 2018!

In my earlier post, I said that I was going to study early in the morning but here I am, typing, AGAIN, on my blog. I'm not even mad anymore because I know myself that well. Procrastination = Me. I'm going to have only a day and a half to finish studying TITAS before the exam on Wednesday oh God I don't know how I'm going to cram all those facts inside my head.

Why am I writing again when I've done the new year post already? Honestly I don't know. I had gone through a lot in 2017 which involves my change in personality and mindset. It was as though I was still searching for myself and my place in this world. My mind would run amok from time to time during the times when I tried to decipher the foreign reality that I was facing, when nothing made sense to me.

I don't know how to explain this. But one thing for sure, I kept changing my mind, or maybe my mind kept changing me? I have no idea, and this is why I'm writing this post. Just in case my future self decides to change her mind on some things again. This could also be a reminder/advice to whoever's reading this.

Girl, please don't give up in whatever you're doing. Keep on pushing yourself in studies, or whatever you're interested in, but always remember to take breaks in between. If you can't seem to do it, allow yourself some time to make decisions. It's not wrong when you're late to catch up in studies, as long as you're comfortable and cool with it. Don't decide anything when you're overwhelmed with emotions, as I'm pretty sure you don't want to regret it in the future.

Explore things. Take part in activities that you like. Push yourself to be brave and bold like you always did. Learn to be patient with people who don't meet your expectations. Why? Because you don't even meet everyone's expectations, so be patient just like how you want others to be patient with you. But still, you've got to be dauntless to express your opinions and correct others' mistakes. Don't just accept everything when you know that it's wrong. It's not wrong to be a perfectionist in your work, remember that and ignore people who say otherwise.

Just be who you want to be and don't ever get affected by judgmental people. It's not wrong to be different and think differently from others. Also, please try not to procrastinate. Aih but I know myself better.

I hope that you're able to make the best out of 2018, and make every moment meaningful. Take risks and get out of that comfort zone of yours (but not too risky I hope). Take care of yourself and those around you. Be sensitive to changes around you and be wise to take the right actions. Just think before you act, alright? Know that I've got your back all the time so please be a strong girl no matter what. Whenever things are hard, just come back here or seek the ones you trust, insyaallah they will be there for you.

I'm hoping to be able to make a recap post by the end of the year where at the end of the post, I'll say "It's been a great year".😊

I love you dear self, please take care 💓

Till the next post!
